Christmas is Here

Hello everybody, this is Kevin from KlotzProductions and it is Christmas day.

My second channel KlotzSquared is now OFFICIALLY online.  The first real video for the channel is online today.  It is an unboxing for the Happauge High Definition Personal Video Recorder or HD PVR for short, that I am going to be using to capture all of my gaming footage.  There are also a few video capture quality tests at the end of the video you can check out.  You can watch that video here...

Here is a list of some of the things I plan on working on for the channel.

COD Black Ops: gameplay commentaries
COD Black Ops: walkthrough on veteran
Resident Evil: 1-3 + 5: Full walkthrough on hardest difficulty
Bioshock: walkthrough on hardest difficulty
Halo: Reach: gameplay commentaries
Videogame montage/music video
Left 4 Dead 2: Live gameplay with subscribers

Anything else I feel like or you all would like to see.

As far as the giveaway goes for the Magic the Gathering channel, we did not reach the lowest goal which was 2,500 subscribers.... we ended up getting a little over 2,100.  So "officially" I wasn't going to be able to give out any cards.  However, I am going to talk with the store manager at Something 2 Do to see if he will give away the five free packs anyway because 500 subs in a little over a month is pretty good and I want to reward you all for your efforts.  So keep watching for updates on her and KlotzProductions to figure out exactly what I will be doing when I find out.

So that is pretty much it for today.  Hope everybody has a good Holiday whatever you celebrate.

The long road to Christmas

Hello everybody, this is Kevin from KlotzProductions and I wanted to take the time to fill you all in on what I will be up to for the next two weeks leading into Christmas.

First of all, I have just uploaded the last of the Highlights footage I had to edit.  So until I am able to go out and record again I won't be able to upload any new live footage gameplays.  This probably will not be until after Christmas.  This is because I am working every other day this week up until saturday and then I work six days in a row up until Christmas Eve.  So I will probably not have the time to record and edit any new highlights until then.

It is possible that I will get one more Deck of the Week up before then but we will have to see what kind of time I end up having.

After Christmas I am told by fellow employees that my hours will probably go down to one to two days a week ( I work in retail ).  So at that point I will probably have a lot more time to make videos, however I will also have to figure out how I am going to pay bills at that time as well.  Like I mentioned before, I will be getting my HD capture card then as well and will be able to start making videogame videos for my other channel.

So that is what is going on with me the next two weeks.  Thanks to everyone for the support and I will talk to you later.

Remember to check the links at the top of the page to find my two channels and facebook page.

Deck of the Week Play testing = EPIC FAIL?

Hey everybody, this is Kevin from Klotz Productions and today I would like to address some of the issues I have with my new Deck of the Week play testing videos as well as get your opinions.

Bad Audio
- It has been brought to my attention that the audio in the current videos is really bad.  The audio from Magic Workstation is way too loud and I am speaking way too softly.  I realized how loud the game was after the first match, so it should be better in the second and third matches against the Eldrazi and Metal Red decks.  However, I realize that I am still speaking way too softly in those videos as well.  So this is an issue I plan on addressing next week if I do these videos again.

Magic Workstation
- It has also been brought to my attention that there are other programs out there that may be better to use for testing MTG online other than Magic Workstation.  I will look into these options and see what I think about using something else instead.

Continuing the DOW Series?
- I need your opinions as to if I should continue the Deck of the Week series or not.  Should I keep doing the series and the play testing and make the correct adjustments to make the testing of higher quality?  Should I do the Deck of the Week video but stop doing the play testing?  Should the DOW video be done in a program like Magic Workstation or should I go back to editing them like I did in the first episode?  Or should I stop the Deck of the Week all together and just spend the time focusing on the videos I am good at which is the live game plays from the shop?  Let me know what you think.

In closing, I apologize for the errors in the recent videos.  It is a learning process for me and I plan on making them better.  For those of you that have been with me since the beginning you know that even my highlights videos didn't start out at the quality that they are today.

Thanks to everybody for your support and I will talk to you all later.

Introducing... The Klotz

Hello everybody, my name is Kevin Klotz and I created this blog to go along with my two youtube channels I have.

I am currently a youtube partner on my first channel which is primarily Magic The Gathering videos.  On that channel I post two main types of MTG gameplays.  I do a full version of the game where I simply turn up the audio so you can hear the players (and background sounds) and add scrolling names of the cards while they are played.  The second type of video and probably the most popluar is my Highlights videos.  In these videos I take the game I recorded and condense it to only show the action from the game removing all the dead time from thinking and such.  Then I commentate the action and add life counters and card images to make the game easier to follow.  So if you like Magic the Gathering go check out that channel.

My second channnel is one that I just created and will be used for videogame related content.  On this channel I will be doing things like walkthroughs, montages, gameplay commentaries, reviews, and achievement guides among other things.  There currently aren't any videos on that channel, however I will be getting an HD capture card for Christmas and will start adding lots of videos then.  Most of the footage is going to be from all kinds of xbox 360 games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo: Reach, Resident Evil 5, and Bioshock 2.  However, I will not be limited to only that console or only those games.  I may throw in some old-school stuff from time to time as well.  However, I don't own a Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3, so if I post videos from those consoles they will be rare, atleast at first.

So that is about it for now.  Depending on when you are reading this you may or may not be able to access my youtube channels via the links at the top of the page but I will add them at the end for you just in case.
